ST Laserstrike brings together expertise in aviation safety, advanced optical prescription lens manufacturing and laser protection solutions to create the only company dedicated to offering a comprehensive Laserstrike solution for Pilots worldwide. Our manufacturing base in the UK supports some of the most sophisticated equipment in freeform lens generation, lens coating and glazing.

Our eyewear can be manufactured to meet the pilot’s exact prescription requirements including our latest triple-zone varifocal for cockpits with instrumentation both above and below the windscreen along with our specialised aviation frames ideal for wearing with HUD, night vision goggles, headphones and visor.

Prior to ST Laserstrike, Paul held a number of senior management positions and has over 15 years’ experience in the management and financial control of businesses in a range of industries during which time he has led a number of business acquisitions.

While his experience is wide ranging Paul’s passion lies in developing businesses in the manufacturing sector, which he stabilises and then grows by introducing tried and tested systems and processes, whether financial, operational, cultural, sales and/or marketing related.

Passionate about developing management teams, and indeed all employees, Paul is a firm believer that his role is to enable the people within an organisation to fulfil their potential and to develop their confidence to run the business in a consistent, planned and controlled manner.

Paul is a Member of the Chartered institute of Management Accountants and a graduate of the Manchester Business School full time MBA programme.

Mark Marland has 30 years experience across all aspects of the optical industry including sales, marketing, laboratory operations and production. He has had practical involvement with the whole end-to-end process, from manufacturing, coating and glazing lenses through to dealing with end-customers in retail stores, and everything in between. He brings expert knowledge of the sector along with significant insight into customer demands and industry trends.

Over the years his extensive background in sales and consultancy has enabled him to become an experienced negotiator and influencer, as well as commercially minded. He relishes new challenges and opportunities and has a proven track record of delivering projects to a successful conclusion.


Martin has over 30 years optical industry experience. His background in prescription optics lead him to pursue a 17 year career as a dispensing optician dealing with the public at retail level. His interest in spectacle fit and performance led him to manufacturing.

In 2000 he joined Optimum Rx Lens Specialists at its inception as Production Manager and in 2005 became Production Director. He was instrumental in the original product specifications and he has designed many of the production processes used to date. His retail experience brings a strong customer focus to the manufacturing of bespoke products.


Henry Orr is co-founder and Director of Brinell Vision Limited, and has 30 years experience in the design & manufacture of optical thin film coatings. Having graduated in Applied Physics from Strathclyde University and is a Chartered Physicist specialising in vacuum deposition processes & optical applications.

He has designed & developed optical filters & coatings for many demanding applications including laser applications, multi-spectral vision systems, and aviation/spaceflight systems. Formerly with OCLI Optical Coatings, with Pilkington Optronics as Principal Technologist in Advanced Coatings, and as head of NDC Infrared’s Thin Film Optics Division, he has specialised in innovative applications of optical thin film coatings.

Adam Brierley is joint founder and Director of Brinell Vision Limited. Graduated in Applied Physics from Liverpool John Moore University in 1990 and gained a Masters in Advanced Engineering Technology from University of Salford in 1992. He has been involved in the development and introduction to market of world class advanced optical thin film technologies for more than 15 years as European Product manager for Balzer & Leybold Optics and Managing Director at Satis Vacuum (Satisloh) plus five years as Commercial Director of Siltint Thin Film Technologies (Manchester UK) working in areas of laser optics, night vision display and fluorescence microscopy. Chartered Physicist and committee member of the Ion and Plasma Surface Interactions group at the Institute of Physics.


Tony is the founder and president of Sierra Tango LLC which for nearly 10 years has been helping companies achieve their business development goals in the aviation industry.

Tony’s background includes Major Account Management for large global aerospace firms. He has 30 years experience in the aviation industry and holds a Commercial Pilot’s License with Instrument, Multi-Engine and Seaplane ratings. He is also a Certified Flight Instructor.
